All of the templates that come standard as part of Word 2011 are installed in the following location on your system. /Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Office/Media/Templates There are various subfolders in that directory that you can explore and locate the specific template that you are looking to find. Common Word document templates are in the subfolder named 'Print Layout View'. I strongly suggest that you do not modify these templates directly in the Application directory path, but instead make a copy and place the copy in this path: /Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/My Templates Make your changes to the copied template. The reason I suggest this is because if you damage the original template and want to restore it, you will not be able to do so without having a backup. If you don't have a backup version then you would have to reload Office just to get the original templates back.
